Course materials

You will be taught using the latest adult learning techniques, and exposed to examples from a variety of industries and perspectives.  Sample exams and pre-course reading will ensure that you are both ready for the first day’s training and the exam/s.

Exams

The course includes the APMG accredited exams:

  • The Foundation exam – multiple choice, closed book, 40 min, 50 questions, 50% pass
  • The Practitioner exam – complex Multiple Choice, open book (PPC guide only), 3 hour, 8 question paper with 10 marks available per question, 40 marks out of 80 available or 50% pass

Pre-requisites

There are no pre-requisites. We recommend all delegates, regardless of their experience, take advantage of our pre-course study materials.

Project Planning & Control™ Foundation Level

The purpose of the Foundation certification is to confirm you have sufficient knowledge and understanding to be an informed member of a project support office or planning and control team. The Foundation level is also a pre-requisite for the Practitioner certification.

Key points you will learn:

  • The approaches and products used to gain a clear definition of a project
  • The approaches and techniques used to plan and close a project
  • The selection and use of appropriate scheduling techniques
  • The practices used for rigorous monitoring to enable proactive control of the project
  • The basis for good record keeping, which also facilitates the virtuous feedback and learning cycle.

Training runs for 3 full days and includes all required materials and the official manual, the exam fee, full catering (on public courses) and an e-certificate. Options available may include our exam guarantee, supporting publications, and a hard copy certificate. Please note that there is preparatory work required prior to this course and evening homework during the course.


 

Project Planning & Control™ Practitioner Level

The practitioner level will give you skills to thrive in a project support team environment.

Key points you will learn:

  • The approaches and key products used to gain a clear definition of a project
  • The approaches and techniques used to plan and close a project
  • The scheduling techniques and appropriate presentation of the output
  • The management of risk in the planning, execution and evaluation of a project
  • The practices and data used for rigorous monitoring to enable proactive control of the project

Training runs for 2 full days and includes all support material, the exam fee, full catering (on public courses) and e-certificate. Please note that it is presumed that you have your official manual from your foundation training; you are welcome to purchase this if not. Options available may include our exam guarantee, supporting publications, and a hard copy certificate. Please note that there is preparatory work required prior to this course and evening homework during the course.
