This course covers the processes and principles of the AXELOS Programme Management (MSP) for Programme Managers or a member of a Programme Support Office. This course includes training for the Foundation and Practitioner exams based on the new 5th edition.

This edition incorporates the move to more agile ways of working and reflects evolving perceptions of programme management. This edition emphasises more on flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness by adopting an incremental approach to the programme lifecycle and thus enabling organisational agility.

The purpose of the foundation level is to confirm you have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the MSP guidance to interact effectively with those involved in the management of a programme or act as an informed member of a Programme office team, business change team or project delivery team working within an environment supporting MSP. The foundation qualification is also a pre-requisite for the practitioner certification.

Foundation Exam Format 

  • Multiple choice
  • 60 questions per paper with 1 mark available per question
  • 36 marks required to pass (out of 60 available) - 60%
  • 60 minutes duration
  • Closed book.

MSP Practitioner is designed for project, programme and business change managers who want to apply the MSP framework to real-life scenarios. Practitioner is a must-have certification for both project and programme management professionals who need to deliver organizational value for their employers and to boost their careers.

Practitioner Exam Format 

  • Multiple choice
  • 58 questions per paper (including 6 matching questions worth 3 marks each), 70 marks available in total
  • 42 marks required to pass (out of 70 available) - 60%
  • Two-and-a-half hours duration
  • Open-book (only the MSP Guide is allowed)
  • Pre-requisite - only 5th edition foundation certification.

Please note that there is preparatory work required prior to the course and homework each evening of the course.

While there are no official pre-requisites to sit this course, it is recommended that a delegates needs to have a sound understanding of project management and a basic understanding of business change.
