We were delighted to have Rod Sowden, Managing Director of Aspire Europe Ltd join us recently to speak with a group associated with, or working within, the P3M3 Performance Improvement Framework space in Auckland. It was a busy time of year for a breakfast session, however those that attended found great value in Rod’s insight and experience relating to the P3M3 Maturity journey.
Rod shared his experiences with UK Network Rail, their vision to stay ahead and their P3M3 Performance Improvement Framework journey. The attendees were able to relate the Network Rail case study back to their own organisational improvement strategies and frameworks, taking away learning and initiatives for improved results going forward.
‘What do high performing organisations look like?’ was a key theme. Rod highlighted the characteristics seen in organisations at Level 3 to 5 in the P3M3 model. The group was encouraged to consider these characteristics and to relate them back to their own organisation, enabling some good benchmarking analysis.
Also highlighted was how the P3M3 model describes the outcomes that should be visible at the higher levels and the complete flexibility in how the outcomes are achieved, thus allowing for organisational cultural differences.
Rod is a great speaker, with a dynamic style and great rapport. The audience loved the real world example, and the feedback CC Learning received was that the informal yet informative approach was appreciated by the attendees. It was an interactive session, where feedback, thoughts and questions throughout Rod’s presentation were welcomed.
