Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®)

View MSP Course Dates

MSP® (Managing Successful Programmes) was developed by expert programme managers to be flexible and adaptable for any type and size of programme. MSP creates a structured framework for organisations of all sizes and from all sectors to improve practices, offer better services and more effectively prepare for the future.

The 5th Edition now available is an update to the 2011 released 4th Edition and incorporates the move to more agile ways of working and it reflects evolving perceptions of programme management. This edition emphasizes more on flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness by adopting an incremental approach to the programme lifecycle and thus enabling organizational agility. The essence of what a programme is remains the same: it is temporary, it is focused on outcomes of benefit, and it is concerned with leading multiple projects and other work. As before, the framework has principles, themes, and a set of processes that make up the lifecycle of a programme.  Achieving this certification will help current and aspiring programme managers (and others in the programme team) to successfully lead and deliver their programmes.

The course is suitable for

  • Programme managers
  • Project managers
  • Project delivery managers and team members
  • Business change managers and team members
  • Anyone who works following the MSP guidance

Pre-requisites

While there are no official pre-requisites to sit the foundation course, it is recommended that a delegate needs to have a sound understanding of project management and a basic understanding of business change.  The 5th edition foundation qualification is a pre-requisite for the 5th edition practitioner qualification. Please note that a 4th edition (or prior) foundation certificate is not acceptable.
